Atlas9 is a narrative-driven immersive art and entertainment venue in Kansas City, Kansas designed as a purpose-built “containment facility” housing a fully realized cinematic universe. Spanning approximately 46,000 square feet across two levels, the experience guides guests through a series of interconnected environments that blend projection, interactive systems, scenic fabrication, and live performance into a layered, story-driven destination.
STAND Structural Engineering partnered on the structural design as part of a multidisciplinary team led by Dimensional Innovations, alongside Perspective Architecture + Design and other collaborators. The ground-up facility was engineered to support high-occupancy assembly areas, including a 280-seat theater, immersive exhibit spaces, bar and retail components, and a range of themed environments that push beyond traditional entertainment design.
At Atlas9, the story may be fictional—but the structure that holds it is very real.
